Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data friendflickrelvlt.com collects, why, who processes it on our behalf, how long it is kept and what rights you have. It applies to this website only.
1. Who is responsible for your data
friendflickrelvlt.com is published by Meridian Sports Publishing Ltd, Third Floor, 8 Peter Street, Manchester M2 5QR, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this site. Privacy questions and requests should go to [email protected]; general editorial correspondence should go to [email protected]. We have not appointed a statutory data protection officer, because the scale and nature of our processing does not require one; privacy responsibility sits with the editorial director at the address above.
2. What we collect
We collect as little as we can and nothing we do not need.
- Information you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, the reason you selected and the content of your message. If you include additional personal information in the message, we hold that too.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider records standard server log information when a page is requested, including IP address, browser and operating system identifiers, the page requested and the time of the request. This is generated automatically by the act of loading a web page.
- Cookie and measurement data. Where you allow it, our analytics tooling records aggregated information about pages viewed and how visitors move between them. See our cookie policy for the categories in use.
We do not ask for payment details, we do not operate accounts or logins, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
3. Why we process it, and on what legal basis
Under UK data protection law we must have a lawful basis for each purpose:
- Replying to your enquiry — consent, given when you submit the contact form, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Keeping the site secure and available — legitimate interests, in operating a website without abuse, fraud or service failure.
- Understanding which articles are read — consent, recorded through the cookie banner. Reject non-essential cookies and no analytics data is collected.
- Meeting legal obligations — where we are required to retain or disclose information by law.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use a strictly necessary cookie to remember your banner choice, optional analytics cookies to count readership in aggregate, and optional functional cookies to remember display preferences. Nothing in the optional categories is set before you consent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser and reloading the page, which brings the banner back. Full detail, including browser-level controls, is in the cookie policy.
5. Processors and disclosure
We use third-party service providers to run the site. These fall into a small number of categories: web hosting and content delivery, email delivery and mailbox hosting, and website analytics. Providers in these categories act as processors on our instructions, under written terms restricting their use of the data to the service they supply, and are permitted to process personal data only for that purpose. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with data brokers, and we do not use it for behavioural advertising. We may disclose information where we are legally required to, or where necessary to establish or defend legal claims.
Some providers operate infrastructure outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards recognised in UK law, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum.
6. Retention
Contact-form correspondence is kept for as long as needed to resolve the matter and for a short period afterwards for reference, then deleted. Server logs are held for a limited operational period determined by our hosting provider's configuration and then rotated out. Aggregated analytics reporting contains no directly identifying information and may be retained longer for year-on-year comparison. We review retention periodically and delete what no longer serves a purpose.
7. Your rights
If the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR applies to you, you have the right to be informed about processing, to access a copy of your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability where relevant, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right not to be subject to solely automated decision-making with significant effects; we do not carry out such processing.
If you are a California resident and the CCPA, as amended, applies to you, you have the right to know what categories of personal information are collected and the purposes, to request access and deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, so no opt-out of sale is required, but you may still make an access or deletion request.
To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We may ask a question to confirm you are the person the data relates to, and we will respond within the period the applicable law allows.
8. Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection and access to the contact mailbox is restricted to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and email in particular should not be used to send sensitive personal information. Please do not include health, financial or identity document details in a message to us.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the supervisory authority. In the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner's Office, which publishes guidance and a complaints process at ico.org.uk. Visitors in the European Union may complain to the supervisory authority in their country of residence.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in how the site works or in the law. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
